Several weeks ago, I got a message, "Ermergerd, Lily has a loose tooth!" It is no where near time for that. After a dentist visit, they found out that she has a tooth growing in sideways. If you knew our family, no news like this is startling, lol. The dentist said to just let it fall out naturally, and then they would deal with the weird tooth. The next day, Lily had Spring pictures taken, and were like "you're taking pictures before her teeth fall out! LOL!" So over the next few weeks, it slowly got looser and looser. And then...it happened. She told her mama that she didn't want to go to "town" because people would see it and laugh. But then she got her money..... She gets it honest.....

I haven't written much in a couple of months.
Not too much has went on besides, work, sleep, grocery shopping and church. I am still obsessed with Swagbucks, and I will order anything that I can through them to get cash back instead of going to the store. For example, on my living room floor in a box right now are toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent and 2 bags of Veggie chips. I can't help it. I order movies through Walmart.com instead of going to the store, get my Swagbucks, then use them to purchase more stuff online. I can't stop. I did a little improvements in the house. Nothing major, a new bed frame, new shelves, new curtains, and my FAVORITE, this Roomba. His name is Mark.
I love him so much.
I do believe that only in South Louisiana can you find a liquor store inside of a Walmart. I cried in church today. I knew Bailey was going to play, sing, and sign, but when she started singing solo, I was caught off guard.
She plays instruments, she sings, she goes to school full time, she teaches Sunday school, and has a job.
Yet I complain when I have to work a 12 hour day. After church I went home and laid around until 2:30. Got redressed, took The Uncle to the store, then I was on my way to work. I don't normally work evenings, but I do have to work every other weekend, and I didn't want to miss the Sunday service. And maybe I knew it was going to be dead slow and I could catch up on my shows, er, do important work stuff. Lily had a good Easter..
Whoops I got cropped out of both of these.
Also, super cool news, Rebecca and Steven bought a house!
DeAnna, our sales rep and morning clerk took a GM position at another hotel, so she is dead to us now.
It's been action packed lately with her gone, the GM on vacation, so I am doing my job, the Front Desk, and filling in other departments as well. Drugs are outlawed, so that's unfortunate. I survived the week with just 2 meltdowns, so I am considering that a success. For two Friday's in a row we have had tornado's err'where. We have been lucky with no damage, and just one 17-hour power outage. I thought that I would surprise Lily and take her to the library. She loves it. However.... When I turned in, she said "Eesa, why you turning in heeah?" I said I thought that I would surprise you, yay! She said, "uh, me and Mommy come to the library".
We still go in, she plays, reads, colors....
And that loose tooth she is pushing back and forth with her tongue. And then it happened....
I blogged the experience... The Tooth Fairy Came!
Today is April the 20th, and I just turned the central heat on. I don't think I turned it on in December and January. I am not complaining though, I am soaking it up the cool as long as it lasts.
After working all of those days in a row, I am enjoying 4 glorious days off. And my glorious, I mean Scott is off as well, so let's see how that goes. I have been binge watching Scandal this past week, convinced that I could catch up before the series finale last night, but I did not succeed. I did however watch the last 20 minutes of the finale, with no clue of what is going on. Spoiler alert, Jake ends up in prison. For like, ever. Meh. In January I started my new book challenge for 2018. Last year my goal was 75. This year I aimed for 50. It will probably be a no, haha. It's towards the end of April and I have only completed one.
Depraved Heart: A Scarpetta Novel by Patricia Cornwell
My rating: 2 of 5 stars Ya'll know that Patricia Cornwell is my girl. I have been reading Scarpetta for over 20 years. They are getting harder and harder to finish. You could have skipped this entire book and go on to the next and not missed a beat. I will always buy her books, I will always read until the end. But just...blah. View all my reviews
I just recently started 4 new ones.
I can't stop. I can think of maybe 4 decisions in my life that I was sick to my stomach worrying about. Very few times where I stepped out of my safe place and did something big. Today I submitted my resignation. I have worked at this hotel for over 10 years. I have no idea what my future holds, but we shall see. (That is the big news, btw. Sorry if your expectations were higher) Scott bought me flowers, trying to be sweet when he knew I was stressing.
Anytime that I go to see the fam, Lily bring out her chalkboard/dry erase board.
She will give you chalk/markers but you're not exactly allowed to use them. Lily was again the star when Bailey signed today. The video is over 6 minutes long, but it's worth it.
Took Lily to the park.
I attempted to swing. Vom.
My cousin Jacob (son of The Uncle next door) joined the Coast Guard some months back, and is going to be stationed in Oregon! We are so proud of him!
You should employ me to watch your child...
I guess that is about it.
I had my first interview today, it went well. We shall see how this journey goes! |
