Saturday was Hunter's birthday party. One thing I have learned; Lily will be your best friend if she grabs your hand and you walk her around everywhere. I was exhausted after an hour. I think I have made it to every birthday party that Hunter has had, and he probably doesn't know I exist. However....as a baby he would cry if I were anywhere in the room, so it's probably best that I continue to keep it on the down low. On the way over there, trying to capture the clouds that would produce the storm that would no doubt kill us all, I almost ran off the road and killed us all...... I went to the grocery store and almost hit the floor. Bailey almost passed out at the bowling alley. It's like the show Flash Forward around here!! Football and NASCAR was the rest of my night. Sunday was probably the easiest work day that I have had, well probably ever. I think everyone was finished in 3 hours, and I had no reason to stay, and I don't want to ride the clock, so I went to the hizzle. The sky was pretty when I left, but I sure wasn't going to take any pictures of it again, haha. I can't make that up^^^^^^^^^^ So this is how my Monday began...... Today was Bailey's very first day of college. I will spare you the picture collage of when she was born, to her first day of school, to graduation. I did that in her Graduation Blog. ANYWAY!!!!! There were tears, but I didn't let anyone see me snotting in my office. On her way.... And I pestered her every hour or so asking how it was going. So I made a SnapChat whoopsie this Tuesday morning. I went to snap Bailey a "how is your morning going?", with a horrible looking facial expression, and I accidentally sent it to Jennifer. I snapped her again, saying, "sorry that was meant for Bailey, but HOW YOU DOIN??????" She responded, "great",and "Oh I see how much you care, LOL", and then I get: Bailey was having a splendid day..... Laura and I having a moment.... I have no idea what Lily is doing.... Wednesdays are nuts. I don't remember the exact day that the Ashley Madison leak went public, but I know my Facebook exploded. I am not gonna lie, I read every list that was sent to me. I saw people that I knew. I feel bad for their loved ones, they didn't ask for that. My one fear of anything that I have ever done wrong is that is would embarrass my parents. They really did raise me better than I turned out. This was a very long Thursday. I stayed at work longer than usual, and I still left earlier than I planned. Enjoy ALL the pictures!!!! I may have sent Rebecca the wrong SnapChat as well.... Everyday Trish is one of my favorite Internet friends. I get a warm and fuzzy feeling when she posts a blog. OH!! And she sent me Crispy M&M's!! As Friday ends, I reflect on this week. Yeah, that's pretty much it. I worked, watched football, watched the Braves sink into a deeper hole, ate a lot of junk food, vacuumed up a lot of pet hair, and drank a lot of coffee. I also changed up my blog theme, if you haven't noticed. It's okay. Just Mumford and Sons.... No reason.... Moving on...... Am I the only one that gets excited about stuff like this? OH!!!! Speaking of excited, I saw last night there is going to be a new Lisbeth Salander book!! And it comes out Tuesday!!!!!! There are 3 things that I need: That^^^^^^^^book, This shirt: And this ladle.... And maybe a kid like the little girl in the middle..... I leave you this week with another adorbs pic of Lil...... Toodles.

Saturday was so hot that I parked my butt in the chair and watched CSI and football all day. Lily had fun at the park and the Aquarium. Convos with Laura. I will miss these so. Sunday's at work are usually pretty chill. Today was exceptionally chill. So let me share a story of how even people with dyed blonde hair can have blonde moments: I leave work this fine Sunday, same as usual; I crank my car, think "wow I need to clean out the back seat!", put on my seat belt, sunglasses, and drive around the building to make sure all is good. I get to the end of the driveway and notice how beautiful the sky is. The clouds are amazing, and the color is outstanding. I take the long way home just so I can snap some pictures. I take a bunch without taking my eyes off of the road, get home, and of course prop up my feet and turn on some kind of sport. Later I get my phone and start emailing myself the pictures. Now they look alright, but the colors I saw didn't capture. I couldn't figure it out, my camera always takes good pictures. Then I realize...... Are you ready...... It was my sunglasses. They have blue lenses. They are new. Yeah. I can't make this up. Obviously the first day I have worn them. I feel sheepish. Monday was very long. But there was pizza :) These ladies are pretty much my entire album of screen shots. As well as these ladies: Tuesday. My heart. Swoon. This Wednesday I shall reflect on how adorable my cousins Hunter and Brayden are: They were so cute I could not be bothered to crop any of these pictures. Sometimes, I forget to respond.... In the last blog I had asked prayers for my friends Brandy and Kevin's mom. She passed away this morning, so they needs your thoughts and prayers even more now. I have been blessed to have my mother in my life every day, and I will never take that for granted. Don't tell her I said that, she will get a big head. Friday Bailey and I went to Mrs. Carolyn's funeral. It was so packed that they brought out folding chairs and people still had to stand. I gave up my seat on the pew to sit in a chair, and became instant friends with the man that had his elbow in my boob and the woman that caressed my knee. And they both giggled when my stomach would growl. The worst part was I had to keep my legs together because I was sitting sideways and people could see me. The horror. After we paid our final respects and walked outside, I wanted to wait until the crowd cleared out and go back in right as they close the casket. That is the hardest part. As I walked back in, two ladies that I love very much brought Bailey inside to sit down, she had nearly fainted. She was so white and could not hear me when I was talking to her. I had no idea what to do, I don't know how to adult. She got better, and then we got lost in the funeral procession as only I could do. And then it rained and I got caught in ants. As only I could do. I was absolutely starving this morning, and since it's grocery day the only thing I could find was a can of Vienna Sausage, a questionable head of cauliflower, Fruity Pebbles, and a stick of butter. We were also out of dog AND cat food. I opened and washed the Vienna Sausage, was about to chow down on it's nutritional value, and Callie was looking at me: I gave them to her, and she snarfed them down in less than a minute. Little did I know that Scott had fed her before he left. Tricksy. Anyway, I poured the few Fruity Pebbles in a glass and poured in the milk. Yep. The milk was frozen. I give up on breakfast. By the time dinner rolled around (Lunchtime I was at the church), I said WE GOTTA GO TO TRAIL BOSS!!!!!! Chicken, steamed veggies, and fried pickles it was. I leave you this week this a phenomenon:
My toe is till recovering from Lily dropping the 12 pound candle on it. If the toenail falls off, I will definitely post pictures. :) One of my close friends Brandy, her mom isn't doing too well, so I would love for everyone to lift the family up in prayer. Work was good today. Most Sunday's I come home a'draggin but today was pretty chill. I also came home to this! Slow Cooker Tater Tot Heaven PBR Summer Break is OVER!!!!! Monday I sweated too much and watched too much WWE... Lily came back. I love her so...... Tuesday I did it again. I knew that I had to work 8-8 but still I wore the wrong shoes. Why. Scott had to go to the doctor, so I spent two hours on a wild goose chase getting medicine when all of the power went out across town. I may have stopped and got snacks for the fam. The Atlanta Braves celebrated their 20 year anniversary of winning the World Series. All my favorite peeps. Can we discuss what a letdown monstrosity the Pretty Little Liars reveal was? Josh Box has posted many amazing pictures lately, and I always say I am going to go and thieve them all and I forget. Here are just a few he has posted lately. This off day started with such hope. "I am going to fold ALL the laundry!! I am going to scrub the kitchen!!! I am going to mop the floors!!!" Just kidding, I went to see Lil. Rebecca and I found fossils at Dollar General.... Parental hopes. The things that I do for my sisters I have seen on Facebook a lot of people doing their own version of the Straight Outta Compton meme, so I was "OH! I have to make one of Provencal!" And I was beat to it. But here you go. Laura leaves me the nicest notes..... I leave you this week with some of my favorite people.
I very rarely work on a Saturday, so I definitely blew everyone's minds when I walked in this morning. And by morning I mean noon. Got work done, grocery shopping done, complained about my mouth hurting, and watched a lot of cartoons. I saw this article and for sure I knew that I have met my soulmate: Seven signs that cheese is your Best Friend: 1. You snack on cheese slices between every meal In your eyes, all cheese is created equal — even if it's not deli fresh. Single slices are portable, and absolutely essential in a grilled cheese sandwich. One single makes for a perfect snack, and won't spoil dinner. Like a true friend, it doesn't want you to wash an extra dish on its behalf. Plus, face it. If you allowed yourself to snack on a pure cheddar cube, you'd lose all control. 2. Spare cheese in a pizza box makes your heart hurt If you're at a party and see a cheese glob fall back into the box after someone serves themselves, you immediately call dibs. Why do you need extra cheese, when you're about to eat a large mass of cheese? Well, because it's cheese. In your head, you remind yourself to "leave no man behind." 3. The cheese popcorn is the first to disappear in your holiday trio Butter, caramel, and cheese — it's a delightful gift to get from that person who really doesn't know you well enough to get you anything else. Yet, you'd be fine if all three compartments were filled with just the cheese variety. That's the one that makes you happy, and that's the one you looked forward to most after receiving the tin. There's a chance you've even let the others go stale, in the time between getting the tin and pondering what else you could use the tin for. (Face it: You won't use the tin for anything else. Just throw it out.) 4. Restaurant nachos offend you Ever notice how when you order nachos, all of the toppings are clumped right on top? The cheese should be equally distributed. Just like friendship, every chip should have access to something that improves its quality. Bare chips are just a little lonely without cheese. When you make nachos at home, it's all about layering. You've mastered the recipe, and you just don't know why fancier eateries haven't caught on yet. 5. Handi-Snacks included that red plastic cheese applicator just to spare you from using your finger for the remaining cheese You're an adult, and you still eat Handi-Snacks — it's OK. You make the most out of it. You make sure to have enough cheese left after the crackers are long gone for "round two" of snacking. In other words, scraping the leftover cheese from the small crevices of its flimsy plastic home. It's almost a hobby for you. You can't throw out the package until all of the cheese is gone, and would question an actual human friendship if you saw someone eat it any other way. 6. You tell cheese about your problems, because you know it never judges you Cheese doesn't question whether or not you've remembered to pay the water bill. Cheese never made you feel guilty about skipping a friend's birthday since you preferred to catch up on the Serial podcast. Cheese will only comfort you, if it can sense you need some comforting. In fact, Babybels are pretty much like, "Hey, girl. I know you had a tough day. Just take, like, a bushel of me, and chill out. I go well with wine, and nobody has to know that I'm the only component of your dinner tonight. It's all good." 7. You've never met a cheese you didn't like I mean, Swiss might not be everyone's favorite, but you'd never openly reject it. If only human friends could be that way. Just imagine — you suddenly meet like, 12 different varieties of friends, and have the feeling of "I love all of you! Seriously. Some more than others, but none of you have red flag qualities. You're all terrific, and we'll be in each other's lives forever." Also, you like the fact that cheese never changes. Cheese never stopped hanging out with you since she met some new guy, and then suffered a personality change, and then expected you to be there for her again when she realized that the guy actually had secret children. Cheese is just cheese. And you love it for that. Karen Beltz @kittensonvespas I love you, Karen Sunday was a good day. I slept in until 10, and ran into work, then went to see the fam. Monday was like the calm before the storm for this week. Tuesday began way before daylight. Our breakfast hostess has lost three people in her family in three weeks. Breakfast isn't hard to do, it's just time consuming. I knew when I finished cleaning it up I was going to have to check the rooms since Laura was off, but what I didn't anticipate was a housekeeper with 14 rooms to do not showing up. Guess who did the rooms? This girl. Even though I know exactly how they need to be and what to check for, I am always afraid that I am going to miss something. I was almost done for the day when I realized it was the last day of payroll. Oy. I crawled up the stairs into the house and passed out. Wednesday was good. I did breakfast again, but didn't have to do rooms later. I don't see how the ladies do it, that is extremely hard work. You have to be precise and swift. So much squatting. Can we take a moment here and talk about what is worse. My hair. My clothes. My room. The most awesome thing in the picture? My Little Texas collage in the background. Work was good, though. This lovely gentleman that trained me at the Front Desk, Chris Thomas is below. Making the news and stuff. One of the biggest scaredy cats I know :) A few years ago we had Dirty Santa. You pick a wrapped gift from the pile, and you can either trade for a gift that someone else has, or take the wrapped gift. Who would dream of putting back the cup with my face on it? This day was great from the beginning. Hot.....but great. Bailey sent me a series of SnapChats that made me LOL. I couldn't screen shot them all, but the story was, she went to the vending machine and hit he wrong button. Another story she probably doesn't want me to share, when she goes to order at Popeye's, the dude that works there knows her because she comes so much and knows what she wants to order. She messaged me the other day when he called her out on it. "I can't go back!!!!!!" But she went back..... Don't even think of visiting when Bailey is not there...... She loves me. Another amazing day. I am not even sure what's going on with this picture. What am I looking at exactly? Let us not forget Lily helping me clean the living room.... Well I have misplaced my flash drive, so that's all for this week :)
I bought four new Kindle books today for under $5 total. This makes 45 books on my Kindle carousel plus the Bible. See you guys in 7 years......
Like last Saturday, it is too hot to do anything. I prepped every room in the house to be cleaned, started laundry, piled all that needed to be folded and hung up on the couch...and then nothing happened. It was so hot I couldn't even sit in front of the fan without fatigue. So I retreated to the bedroom, laid in front of the fan, and read. Around 10:00pm I had psyched myself up to get up and be productive, and then I got a text that my Uncle had passed. I then decided that I was sad, and bed is where I should stay. J.D. Sunday was a poopy work day, but I did get to leave by 5pm. Came home, attempted to eat a sandwich with my swollen gums, and enjoyed the air conditioning.
I finished this book!!! Love!!!!
Destination Truth: Memoirs of a Monster Hunter by Josh Gates
My rating: 5 of 5 stars As an avid fan, I was so excited to buy this book! Mr. Gates did not disappoint! It was fun to be watching the show and be reading that very chapter in the book. Josh is funny, witty, and the real deal. I need more books!! View all my reviews Okay, see this? Where it says 0% chance of rain on Sunday?
Tell that to my car windows that I left down.
Monday I mostly complained about my swollen gums and worked until 6pm, then I went to my Uncle's wake.
I did see one of my seven readers! Hi Ang!! I came home, immediately devoured all of the soft food I could find, watched John Cena's nose get broken, then went to bed.
Tuesday I was up and at work before the chickens.
Meh. I did hear a funny story from a guest that said his wife was smoking and she put the cigarette out in a hanging plant, and when they returned home from dinner, the entire porch was on fire. Good times.
I was so tired Wednesday morning that for 0.02 seconds I thought about going back to sleep and just working Friday instead.
I am glad I didn't. On the way I received a text that I let my car read to me. My car then apologized for giving me all that bad news in one text. 2 people called in. One didn't show. No one else will answer. This means, that after we shift people around, and put Laura in laundry to cover that area, each housekeeper is looking at 17 and 18 rooms each. It is an average of 40 minutes a room to make sure everything is stellar, we pride ourselves on that. So I had to hand those papers to the 4 gracious people that came into work, and we tried not to cry together. I then looked at Scott, and he knew what we had to do. Help. *cue screaming movie track* It honestly was not that bad. I think I cleaned 12 rooms, and Scott made all of the beds. I really really cannot get the stupid insert inside the duvet. Of course, I don't have Scott's "technique" down pat.....
It was a good day though. Scott and I didn't fight too much, it's not a secret we don't work well together.
The boss lady fed us all breakfast and lunch, so free food makes every day a better day. I didn't even nap when I came home!
Thursday was very uneventful. I like them that way.
One of my closest friend's dad passed away. No matter the age, it is not easy. I had months to prepare for losing my dad, but still, when I got the call it was a shock. Clay has been my friend for many years. I think 1995, right as we both graduated. Somewhere around here I have his Senior Graduate photo with the absolute worst porn mustache. Here we are, through the past 20 years.
I have many more, I am too lazy to dig for them.
I have a handful of friends that have stuck with me over the years. When Rebecca got married, my daddy insisted that everyone get in a picture together. I stood to the side and said "those are my friends, yo!" The photographer was like, "do you want to be in the picture?", and I said "oh no, go ahead -_- "
As you see, I only hang out with attractive people.
I will spare you all of my ailments on early Friday morning, but by the evening, and a handful of medicine later, I lived.
My mother and I attempted to go to Zwolle, and it is as fabulous as it sounds, with no real idea of where we were headed. We filled up on gas just in case. Finally found the funeral home, saw Clay and the fam, paid our respects, then headed home. I discovered on the Boomerang channel that The Smurfs, Scooby Doo, and The Flinstones come on every day . I possibly have my DVR full. I am already working on the next blog that will be full of pictures of Lil. Be excited. |
