This book sucked me in for days.
I finished, but I am not done! Now I am looking for more books on the topic. I have 7 pages of notes. My house and laundry are neglected, I haven't seen the Walking Track in a week, and instead of making lunch today, I didn't want to stop reading so I ate a can of Vienna sausage. People at work are like "SHUT UP ABOUT THE BOOK!!!"
The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon by David Grann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars I read many articles about this book, the figures and tribes in the story, and several of them said "that ending though!". I see what they mean. At 73% (if you're reading on the Kindle), the book ends. The rest is footnotes and sources, and to my delight, pictures. I kind of don't want to watch the film, which is loosely based on the expeditions of Col. Fawcett, because I know it will not hold a candle to this book and all of research that went in to it. My beautiful sister had a birthday!
Lily was excited, she planned a party. There were "Frozen" plates, cake, and Skittles.
Had fun on our Chinese Buffet Carb-Fest!
More books!
Percy Fawcett and the Lost City of Z: The History of the Explorer's Mysterious Disappearance in Search of El Dorado by Charles River Editors
My rating: 4 of 5 stars I learned a few new and different facts. A quick read. View all my reviews
Peter & Emily, The Girl From New York by Thomas Hayes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars I always say that when I finish a book with a satisfying ending, I will not read he epilogue, because I had closure, and then bam!....things change. When I finished this book, I was at peace. Then!!! I read the epilogue, which was a set up for the next book. WHAT!!!!!! Now I am going to get sucked into this series. I am not going to say what happens, it's a huge spoiler, but I am looking forward to reading it. View all my reviews
I realize that I am a grown ass woman, but after emptying the Amazon Prime Pantry box, I was like hmmmmmm......"what if I could fit in that?"
The answer was yes.
As a couple of 13 years, Scott and I have been to a sporting event of every sport that I watch, minus NASCAR. I did that before we met.
This weekend, we can add Bull Riding to the list. We went to see the PBR Touring Division in Alexandria. It was everything that I hoped it to be.
I wait all year to trick out the May Lost and Found tub.
That's all for now!
