A couple of months ago I am like "hey, let's go to a zoo at the end of August in 108 weather". So we did. So I finally packed, picked up the fam, and we went West. Of course we had to stop in Shreveport and have some Sumo first: The only concern I had was how was Scott, Steven, Rebecca, myself, and Lily + carseat going to fit in my car? Plus luggage? A car seat up my butthole the entire trip, that's how! We made it with just one kink all the way to Tyler, TX. We got checked into the hotel, and in no time, there was a cute little girl at my door with a pink tutu bathing suit on :) To the pool we went. I told them that I was absolutely not getting in the pool. I got in the pool. Tshirt, cotton capris, bra, panties.....everything. Later that evening we went to Stanley's Famous Pit Barbeque. I am not a BBQ girl, but this was fantastic! I may be a convert! We then went clubbing and painted the town red. JK. We went to bed. But not before.... The next morning I was up early, and of course tried to wake everyone else up. I get this: And then...this: So I had to send THIS: Pre-Zoo selfie! Per Scott's infatuation, we had breakfast at Whataburger. And then off to the Caldwell Zoo!!!! I may have jacked some pictures from Rebecca's Facebook as well..... We finished the Zoo with a trip to the Gift Shop. I bought some gifts for folks, and a cute flamingo for myself. It made it all the way to my mother's house. R.I.P. One of Scott's main reasons for getting out of town was to find Greek food. He lives for Gyros. We lunched at What About Kabobs. You'll never guess what we did when we got back to the hotel.. After showing his dominance.... We went to The Jalapeno Tree. By far the best food I have eaten in a while. They had Sugar Free Margaritas!!!!! And of course being our last night out we for sure went out and tore it up! oK. We went back to bed. The only downside to this trip were the hotel beds. Now I work for Hilton, and at our branch, Hampton, we advertise Cloud 9 bedding. IDK what this was, but it did not resemble a cloud in the least. It gave ZERO and was genuinely rock hard. Scott seriously considered sleeping in the chair. I can sleep anywhere, so I made do, BUT there was a gap between the headboard and the mattress and my elbow would go through it, my pillows, and several times my phone. What is life. So we got checked out and we were homeward bound. When we got into Shreveport, we had to find a Carl's Jr. for Steven. It was delicious. At one point on the way home I was like "just do whatever you want" And then skies went from Happy Days to Game of Thrones real quick: So that's it! We had a lot of fun and I am ready for another trip!
