Hot. This month was hot. The average temp was 102 °.
I didn't do much. Work. Hung out with the family as much as I could.
There was a dinosaur show.
The 4th of July came and went. We cooked burgers, watched documentaries, and drove around.
Again, Jared can't just let a snake cross the road. We have to escort it.
Fun fact about hognose/puff adders. They make themselves wider to appear bigger to other snakes. From Google: The hognose snake is sometimes called the puff adder. When it is threatened, it raises its head and puffs out and flattens the skin around its neck - like a cobra. It hisses loudly, and lunges towards the threat. It is all a show!
One of my favorite Lily videos.
♫God shed His grace on thee...♫
Thomas came in for a day, long enough to be a cat bed.
The Child started a new job.
I like to sneak random pictures of Jared and his parents. No reason. They're all pretty much the same, Papa reading, while Jared is showing him something on his phone.
This time, I got caught ;)
Levi's three stages of a snow cone.
The possum that absolutely does not belong to us or any other close relative is getting bigger and bigger. Y'all tell me why even as a kid I was 10/10 awkward. In a matter of 20 minutes, there was a tarantula, a black widow, and a doo doo bug. #ihateithere
We should all sleep like Levi
I try to weed through pictures and pick my absolute favorites, but I can't! His face! We're not going to talk about him being able to pull himself up and the new teeth he has.... It has not rained all summer. The temp is currently 107°. All the streams are bone dry. The creek is hardly nothing. Just driving slowly down a dirt road, the dust in the air stays for a while. I've seen on social media, people that have pools can't even get in them because the temperatures are too hot. This is miserable, and I am sure it has been worse in my lifetime, but I don't have a memory of a drought this bad.
I am still digging through old pictures at my mother's house.
So many gems.
Like mother like son. Sleeping on a church pew.
Lord Jesus, please let my mama and daddy get tired of Mississippi and let us move back home.
Amen. I leave you with one of my favorites.
