When I tell people that I am just naturally grouchy, I always hear, "I don't see it!", or "NO WAY". Yes way. I try to keep it under tabs, I don't want to be the Negative Nelly. This past week, though. It was just bad. We talked about this today during our morning work meeting. Rise above. Don't dwell on it. Smile through it. That is what I am going to do. Rebecca and I took Lily to the local Mardi Gras parade. Lily had fun. I took pictures of kids who I thought I knew, but did not, haha. She got her hair honestly. About a week and a half ago my hand started hurting. I couldn't really tell if it was hand or middle finger, but regardless it was throbbing. It is still ruining my life. I am left handed, yo! I have an ace bandage and a vulgar hand brace that pokes my middle finger out. I am just trying not to lift anything with it. I FORGOT a few weeks back I ordered Girl Scout cookies. I gave my precious Thin Mints away. What is life. You know what else I have been doing for SEVEN days???? Waiting for April the Giraffe to give birth. That's not all that amused me from Facebook this week.... This and that.... When you have to stick your hands in food.... That's all for now, folks!

In my lifetime, there have only been a handful of celebrity deaths that have affected me. I mean I feel bad that people have lost their loved ones, but I usually just go "aww", and then try to remember how I know them. Heath Ledger's death was hard, I knew he was such a talent with a young baby girl. Eddie Guerrero, I shed a tear, he was a fan favorite and it was most unexpected. Alan Rickman, because having to watch Snape's death scene 40 times, and still crying, wasn't hard enough already. This morning we were sitting in church waiting for everything to begin. Rebecca leans in and goes, "Did you know Bill Paxton died?" I gasped, but didn't believe it. She checked several sites until it conformed to be true. I am at a loss for words. He has always been my #1 guy. Twister is one of my absolute favorite movies. I always said that I have two obsessions in this world, tornadoes and the Titanic, and he was in both of the movies. I mean I watched Mighty Joe Young just because he was in it. I was looking forward to his new show, that I probably wouldn't have given a second look if it were not for him. I know he is just a man, but movies and tv will be a lot less dimmer for me now. He has been in over 90 productions, but below are my absolute favorite.
I must go be melancholy. Pretty chill week. Every Valentine's Day I always volunteer to work the 3-11 desk shift so all the lovey-dovey's can go out. Scott got off at 7, and brought me the sweetest bouquet. This is why we coexist so well. Bailey got started a day early, LOL I discovered that carrots are slightly high in carbs and I have been scarfing down 2 bags a week. My Weight Loss Journey is kicking my butt. I have lost 7 pounds. Meh. I cooked!! Scott's Favorite Fajitas And for no reason, Chipper Jones. I hope you have a spectacular week. We got our a/c fixed!!! 20 minutes into it I was freezing and turned it off, haha. Work was good this week. Inspection came and went, so I won't have to worry about that again until August. Still struggling with My Weight Loss Journey. Scott however, always eats for two: The week was good. Not much excitement, but hey, Saturday night was on fire! In the nearly 13 years that Scott and I have been together, it's an ongoing joke about trains. In Alabama we always lived near train tracks, and we ALWAYS got stopped by them. When we moved here, we are 15 miles from the nearest track that runs through town, but dang if it doesn't run right in front of his job which makes him wait, and it runs on the way to downtown/business district where we always go. The other day traffic was backed up so he took a different route, and dang if we didn't hear the whistle. If you could see the fits that he pitches, it is well worth a ticket. But when the train got there.... That was it. It was just the engine. On the way home we caught a very long train. I always try to be the optimistic one, thinking, "hey, look at the stolen time that we get to spend together!". I get this face: I laughed and wheezed at this so hard, I uploaded it to Facebook and maybe 4 people liked it. Come on! It's hilarious! My cousin Jacob made my entire week. That's about it! I had this entire blog written, and then it disappeared. #Russians So let's do a quick rundown. I was off an entire weekend, but my head hurt so bad I just laid around with a wet rag and watched Lord of the Rings. I have an infected hangnail which has made my finger swell up and throb. I performed self-surgery, so we shall see how long before I end up with it amputated in an emergency room I told Rebecca walking into church Sunday morning that I was going to ask prayer (jokingly), and she said "YEAH, when they ask 'does anyone need a healing?', just lift your middle finger in the air!!" We kid, we kid. I took a 40 minute nap. My phone looked like this when I awoke. I am still doing the eating healthy/exercise hooha. Week 2 of No Happiness How I feel about it: I haven't posted any Josh Box Photography pictures lately. He has been posting so many good ones, but I have been slacking. This drew me in for some reason. My friends are cooler than your friends: I cooked 3 new things! Some were good, some were a dumpster fire. "Fried" Broccoli How NOT to Make Shrimp Enchiladas Roasted Garlic Parmesan Veggies I kind of watched the Superbowl. Meh. I didn't even finish the Halftime show. I did however watch The Fellowship of the Ring with Cast commentary. I have to finish the week with my favorite story. I know this won't be funny to anyone but us, but I want to share it so I can read this months from now and remember it. After church we went to eat. We all order our drinks, Rebecca and I order water, a child's water for Lily, my mother probably orders Diet Coke, and Bailey order a Sweet Tea. Bailey is 19. She has a car, a driver's license, she voted last year, she is a sophomore at NSU. When the server brings our drinks, Bailey.......is brought a child's cup. I guess she could pass for 12 or younger, but she is indeed a legal adult. Several people assume she is my daughter, I am almost 20 years older than her. It's still funny. This will always be funny. |
