Crockpot? Crock Pot? Meh. Anyway! I love anything that I can cook in the slow cooker. I am particularly lazy when it comes to preparing food. I love to eat, but having to stand there and stir, whisk, that is not for me. Waiting for water to boil? That is the worst. I found this recipe on Pinterest, and figured I would give it a whirl. I mean, it's pork chops in a slow cooker! How hard could it be? Challenge accepted. Here is what I used: 6 Center Cut some kind of pork chop. There are bones. 1 envelope of Pork Gravy that I had to search for because there are 2,009 different kinds of Country White Gravy in the grocery store and one display of Pork Gravy. 1 envelope of Ranch Dressing that I didn't use but maybe half of because I don't like it. The recipe called for 4 cloves of garlic, but let's get real, I cannot figure out how to "smash" it and have bulbs of garlic be usable for cooking. I used a bunch of garlic powder. Pepperoncini peppers, that are apparently on the condiment aisle. Unsalted butter. I bought name brand. $$$$$$$ So...brown the pork chops in EVOO on both sides. I put a lid on everything, so when you lift the lid to flip the meat, and some kind of way a fire starts beneath.....be ready. I cut up some butter. It said 6 tbs, but the label on the fancy butter was confusing, so I ended up with way too much. I threw it all in there anyway. After you cook the pork chops, put them in the cooker and "deglaze" the pan with 3/4 cups of water and pour over the pork chops. Yeah...I had to ask Rebecca if that meant just adding water to the pan, sloshing it around and pouring it in the cooker. Why you don't say slosh? THEN...you sprinkle the envelope of Pork Gravy and how much ever Ranch dressing you want, evenly, over the chops. I am sure the entire pack would be delicious. I also sprinkled a butt load of garlic powder since I can't figure out how to birth the bulbs from the mama garlic. Add the pepperoncini peppers. I have no idea how to pronounce this. It was fabulous. I turned that sucker on high for four hours and walked away. My kind of cooking. It was nice though, once I put out the fire and threw everything in the slow cooker, I watched 2 hours of Bull Riding, took a nap, and read a couple of chapters of The Four Legendary Kingdoms, that I only have early because I ordered it from Great Britain ;) I checked on it between Bull Riding and nap, moved them around a bit and made sure they all had enough juicy juice going on. When Scott called on his way home from work, I was preparing a delicious yet nutritious side item... ....and he wanted Northern Beans. No biggie, you can cook them on the stove in just a couple of minutes. Do you know the worst part though? I have to use the can opener. I canNOT use a can opener. I know in my brain what to do, but my hand/brain/eye coordination are nonexistant. Using a manual can opener isn't much better. Who knew underneath your can opener was so funky? We fixed our plates, and chowed down. He said it was a keeper. Guess who had which plate :) You see I use the fancy Pioneer Woman plates. He gets the Great Value ones. Enjoy.
