So everyone is aware of my obsession with The Pioneer Woman. Currently open along with this tab is the link to her blog. I started Saturday reading just one section, and I am 116 blogs in. Anyway..... She posted this past week a recipe that looks divine, and me, not tryna to work, attempted to simplify it. Meh. If you make this, add garlic powder to the pasta. I did not. Big mistake. Also, one can of Alfredo is not nearly enough, and two is way too much. Just so you know. Here is what I used: 3 thin boneless, skinless chicken breast A box of bow-tie pasta Ragu Classic Alfredo sauce Butter, minced garlic, sea salt, white pepper, Lawry's seasoning Remember. Use Garlic Powder for the pasta. It's bland as a hootin' nanny. I have no idea what that is. Fact: Hootenanny is a Scottish word meaning "celebration" and / or "party", most closely associated with Hogmanay—the Scots New Year celebration which, traditionally, is the biggest celebration on the Scottish calendar. So..that isn't bland at all. Now here is where Ree and I differ. She made her own Alfredo sauce. It looked delicious. I know it tasted delicious. But I...well I went the lazy route. I love Ragu Classic Alfredo and that is how it went down. As I said one is not enough, and two made it kind of runny, so definitely 1.5 the next time I made it. In my Lisa-brain, cooking the chicken with the minced garlic was just going to snazz it up and make it gourmet. No no. It tasted like sadness. Now. The reason Ree cooks professionally and I work in my tiny office at a hotel shows here. In her recipe she made her own sauce, and then added fresh spinach and tomatoes. I.....ain't tryna do work. And it showed. This just needs something more. So if you make it, do it better than I did.
Toodles.
