This is something that I plan on making many more times, but let me stress, when it comes out of the oven, stir it well I took it out, had on it the stove, The Child comes through and asked was it ready, I was cutting up chicken for dinner tomorrow and I go "SURE!", and of course there were chunks of cream cheese err'where. What I used: 2 bags of 12 oz broccoli and cauliflower 8 oz block of cream cheese 1 cup -ish of sour cream 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar A swish or two of mustard 1/2 a chopped onion 2 tbl of minced garlic 1 pack of smoked sausage, sliced? Chopped? What I did: There are ways this could go. You could boil the broccoli and cauliflower, you could buy and steam it in bags, but I live in a roasted broccoli house. I seasoned it with garlic & onion powder, plus a little of the Jared seasoning (at the bottom of the page), and coated it in olive oil. I roasted it for 23 minutes on 400°. I also sliced up the smoked sausage and cooked it in a pan, set it aside, browned the onion and garlic, and then added the smoked sausage back in. I mixed a cup of sour cream (mayo would have been delicious but then I would have been the only one that ate it), 8 oz of cream cheese, pinched into little pieces, I covered that in seasonings, swished the mustard on top (Dijon would have been PERFECT, but alas, I only had regular), and folded in the sausage/onion/garlic. Place the broccoli/cauliflower in a 9x13 pan, add the mixture on top. I tried to spread it out evenly. I added one cup of shredded sharp cheddar to the top. I meant to add one cup in with the mixture, and then an additional cup on top of the mixture, but I have like, 2 nerves left that aren't stressed, and I was also cooking fish for tonight and chicken for tomorrow. That I burned. Anyway, place that in your oven for about 15 minutes. Let me stress, stir it up nicely before you serve it, or you'll have chunks of cream cheese. When I cook it again, I will just mix in the one cup of cheese, after it's baked I will stir it, and then add the second cup of cheese, put it back in, and let it melt. It's a good low carb side, or even a whole meal option. This is what I ended up with. *The Jared mixture- 1 tsp cayenne, 1 tbl garlic powder, 1 tbl onion powder, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp ground oregano*
I was also making sun dried tomatoes... I am the worst
