Monday. Snooze. Good work day. Sloppy Joe's for dinner. Watched Bull Riding. Reading. That's pretty much it. At first in life I wanted to be a drummer. Then I decided on a hockey player. Nope. Now I desire to be the person who opens the gate when the bull comes out. I know now it's called a Gate Man. I have never been much for jewelry, but I finally found the wedding ring I want. Now I just need probably $40,000. I don't even know how much rings cost. Tuesday was pretty chill. Work. Sleep. Wednesday- I am convinced that I have a brain tumor because all day at work for every day this week I have smelled something that reeks of burned rubber. No one else smells it, and I only smell it at work. I thought it was the new speakers for my laptop, but I smell it outside of my office too. Thursday was meh. I dropped my phone and the screen cracked. While helping Scott move a mattress he said "don't move", which is code for TAKE OFF RUNNING!!! He said there was a baby lizard that he thought went up my pants. So I did indeed take off running. He found it. I lived. AND!!!! I am not dying from brain cancer. While I was trying to figure out the smell, I wore different clothes every day, I sniffed every thing and every one at work. FINALLY! I figured it our early this A.M. Every morning of my life no matter what I wear to work I always throw them in the dryer for a few minutes. When I pulled my shirt out this morning, it was the same smell from work. It's a new thing, so I am not sure why it's doing it. I use dryer sheets. Maybe because they're already dry? But why now? Who knows. I may have to start using an iron. Gasp. Laura however, had a worse morning that me: Friday.....OMG Friday. It kind of started the night before when I got a call from a Housekeeper that she couldn't make it because of a family emergency. I stress thinking about how hard it will make the next day because we are sold out, and there was a school checking out, and a ton of people checking in, that I knew we going to arrive early. I go in, and another Housekeeper called in, having to go to the E.R. We are doomed. I cleaned rooms, Scott helped with rooms, the front desk cleaned rooms while the night auditor stayed until 1pm. People were trying to check in at the crack of dawn, rooms were getting switched around. It was crazy, BUT it all worked out, no problems. Just an insane amount of running around, apologizing as to why your room isn't ready 5 hours early, and I am so sorry there is a 10 foot gap in between your room and your grandmama's sisters cousin. SPEAKING OF WHICH, a creepy old guy not only HUGGED ME, but kissed me on the forehead. I am deceased. SO, I get off at 5:30ish, come home, go straight to the bedroom, change clothes, I don't touch anything, I leave the animals locked up in their room, shut the door, and go to my sisters. I come home at 8ish, and I see Callie running towards me when I turn in the driveway. I know that isn't right because I left her in the house. When I get closer to where I park, I see Sassie on the porch. I know then something is really wrong. The front door was open, lights were on, the TV and cable box were on. I just shoved all the animals I saw inside and closed the door. My first instinct was to just go in, grab a gun, and see what's up. I knew I would never hear the end of that. I call Scott, he leaves work and tells me to go back to Rebecca's. When he got here, no one was here, and nothing was missing. The back door was also open. TV, XBOX, guns, everything still here. It makes ZERO sense, why open every door? Even my bathroom door and all the spare rooms were open. I bet it was a shock when the middle room door was open and three cats come charging out. That's probably when they left! It's ok though, when I went to see the fam, Lily liked me this trip! She even crawled in my lap. Of course when she realized it, she slowly reversed it and went to her mama. Saturday and Sunday!!! Beautiful weather!!!!! With a headache and throbbing leg pain, I cleaned the entire house, did laundry, cleaned up the yard, and put out the fall decor. I was going to mow the grass, but I didn't finish the inside of the house in time. So that was my very long and exhausting week.
